The rosella is a brilliantly colored parakeet native to Australia.  What distinguishes it from other parakeets is its broad, flat tail.  Here in the United States, it is kept as a household pet.  The striking colors of the Eastern and Crimson rosellas make this bird ideal for representation on our suncatchers, windchimes, and glass collectibles.
